Ayrshire, UK – Dobbies, the United Kingdom’s premier garden centre, is ushering in the festive season with goodwill by donating real Christmas trees to local schools and nursery groups in Ayr.
This heartwarming initiative is part of Dobbies‘ “Not Your Average Community” campaign, a collaborative effort with sustainable real tree grower Needlefresh.
The Dobbies store in Ayr is preparing to light up corridors and bring joy to children by generously gifting Nordmann Fir Christmas trees to nearby schools and nurseries.
These trees will serve as dazzling centrepieces for holiday celebrations, and the store is now accepting nominations for the lucky recipients.
What sets these Christmas trees apart is their commitment to sustainability. Every Dobbie Christmas tree is grown in environmentally managed fields across Scotland.
The dedicated growing team handles everything from planting and pruning to harvesting by hand, minimizing the impact on the environment, wildlife, and plants.
Chloë Bell, Dobbies’ CSR and Community Communications Executive, has been overseeing the “Not Your Average Community” campaign for two years and is thrilled to unveil this year’s focus.
She emphasized, “Community lies at the heart of Christmas at Dobbies, and we take immense joy in sharing the holiday spirit with those around us. We aim to help create Christmas magic in local schools and nurseries in Ayr. We hope that, through the tree donations in collaboration with Needlefresh, children can come together, decorate the tree, and make cherished memories.”
George Hood, Managing Director of Needlefresh, said, “Our sustainable Nordmann Fir Christmas trees make a splendid focal point for festive celebrations due to their bushy and full appearance and excellent needle retention.”
“We eagerly look forward to witnessing local schools and nurseries breathe life into this classic tree through their decorations. We are delighted to partner with Dobbies in delivering a magical experience for the children of Ayr,” he continued.
Nominations for three recipients are currently open, with the Wednesday, October 25th deadline. Successful applicants will receive notifications in November, allowing them to arrange a date for collecting a Nordmann Fir tree from their local Dobbies store.
