Ahead of a prominent Communist party’s meeting next week, Chinese cities witnessed the imposition of fresh lockdowns across China.
As per reports, the number of COVID-19 cases has been tripled during the weeklong holiday.
The recent lockdown has been imposed in Fenyang city in northern China’s Shanxi province after a primary positive case was found in citywide testing the previous day.
In the nearby Inner Mongolia region, the capital Hohhot announced the prohibition of entering the city from Tuesday onwards.
In the last 12 days, Hohhot witnessed more than 2,000 cases of COVID-19 infections.
China is the only country still facing the harsh measures of Covid 19 due to increasing infection cases daily.
The communist party of China is trying to work on building a positive image of the country, ignoring the actual reason behind rising cases in China.
During the annual public holiday in the country on the occasion of the National day holiday, which began on October 1, the nation’s government prohibited travelling on holiday due to increasing COVID-19 infection.
In addition, the government of China also warned the people to stay at their homes as much as possible and to avoid travelling on the holidays.
But the cases of COVID-19 infections have grown from 1800 to 600 at the start of the break.
The government has taken strict measures to avoid such cases, but the “Zero- Covid” action has severely affected small businesses.
Many in China are hoping that harsh rules and norms to eliminate COVID-19 infections will be eased after the meeting of the Communist party next week.
