Ayrshire, UK: Prestwick Rotatory Club celebrated their 75 anniversary Yesterday, November 6, 2023. The members of the Club and other distinguished guests gathered for their annual Dinner recently.
The Club was established in 1948. The Club, born as an offshoot of The Rotary Club of Ayr, with The Rotary Club of Troon as its offspring, commemorated this significant milestone at a special event.
The grand affair was graced by distinguished guests, including Rotary District Governor Narek Bido, who raised a toast to honour the achievements of the Prestwick chapter.
President of the Prestwick Rotatory Club received a commendable certificate from Governor Narek, recognizing the Club’s outstanding contributions to the town over 75 years.
He also presented the Club President with an acceptable certificate to acknowledge his significant contributions to the town over 75 years.
The ceremonial banners exchange between Governor Narek and President Gregor added to the evening’s significance.
The event was attended by eleven Past Presidents and representatives from six other Rotary Clubs. An engaging and memorable speech was delivered by the principal Speaker, John McKelvie, a retired Police Superintendent, captivating the audience with his insights.
Recognizing outstanding service, Prestwick Rotarians Andy Mathieson and John Brebner were felicitated by Assistant Governor Hazel McCully for their remarkable 40 years of dedication to Rotary.
Wrapping up the evening’s festivities, Club Vice President Lorraine McEvoy expressed a heartfelt and occasionally humorous vote of thanks to the staff of St Nicholas Golf Club. He thanked the staff members for their impeccable service and an excellent dinner, concluding the night on a high note.
Reflecting on their achievements, the Prestwick Rotarians also expressed pride in their continuous efforts to serve the local community.
They reaffirmed their commitment to persist in their benevolent work for many more years, as they received warm congratulations for their longstanding service and dedication.
