Ayrshire:Â Charity and Nonprofit Organisation River Garden Auchincruive welcomed their new resident, Kern and head gardener, Andy. They are working for the Bothy Cafe as River Garden Volunteers.Â
River Garden Auchincruive is Ayrshire’s charitable and nonprofit organisation, which aims to help people recover from their unhealthy addictions and live an optimistic and transformed life.
Recently, the River Garden Volunteers Resident Kern, and Head Gardener, Andy have been busy in River Garden’s glasshouses. They are carefully picking the ripe tomatoes which are needed to be used in The Bothy Café.
This year, the River Garden Auchincruive have been growing several different varieties of tomatoes, including Tigerellas, Indigo Suns, Black Cherries, Germans, Paul Robinsons, Blue Bios and Green Zebras in their garden areas.
Resident Kern and Head Gardener Andy are currently used in the café for their River Garden side salads as ingredients for soups and other unique cuisines.Â
As per the River Garden, Last week’s special dish was goat cheese, tomato, red onion & mixed leaf salad, served with a slice of sourdough bread from the River Garden’s sourdough suppliers – Nature Cic.
At River Garden, punnets of tomatoes are available to buy from their garden produce table outside the Bothy café.
Reportedly, The River Garden Auchincruive is Ayrshire’s leading charitable organisation, working consistently to help people live a happy and prosperous life through their creative and innovative projects.
Previously, the River Garden has extended to Chantal Mcfeely, a long-time supporter who has been fundraising for their projects for a long time.
Chantal Mcfeely lost her husband to addiction in 2020; since then, she has formed a special connection with the River Garden.
In recent Conversations, she opened up about herself and shared, “I could have just wallowed in my grief, but I wanted to do something positive. That eventually brought me to raise funds for River Garden – and I’ve had so many incredible experiences there.Â
“I hadn’t been able to save Robin, but I so much wanted to make people aware of what addiction does and to raise funds to help others,” Chantal continued.
Last Saturday, Chantal took on her biggest fundraising challenge—a wild, open-water sea swim from Troon to Lady Isle. She set off from Ballast Bank (Troon) on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. with her swim support team to take on the gruelling 5-mile swim.Â
She was in the water for five and a half hours and arrived back to Troon exhausted, in pain, but triumphant. Chantal set off with her team and returned to a crowd of cheers, applause and affection.Â
Some of the River Garden team were there to greet her with flowers and to show our gratitude for her continued support. So far, Chantal has raised over £2500 for River Garden.
