United Kingdom: Leading Charity and Nonprofit Organisation, Ayrshire Cancer Support, introduced their Fundraising executive Sophie. They recognised her volunteering efforts and shared her inspiring story to fight against Breast Cancer.
Ayrshire Cancer Support is a leading charitable Organisation which aims to provide emotional and practical support for people who have Cancer. The Organisation also raises funds and donations to help and support the people of Ayrshire Community.
The Organisation Supports From providing transport and complementary therapies to offering expert information or just being there to listen.
Reportedly, Sophie is the Fundraising Executive here at Ayrshire Cancer Support. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2017, aged 23. She had five months of chemotherapy, followed by a lumpectomy and six weeks of radiotherapy.
Sophie’s advice to others affected by Cancer would be, “ Lean on your loved ones when the days are hard, you are not alone. Keeping life as normal as I could really was my saviour. Surround yourself with positive people, and go grab life!!”
Sophie has achieved lots in her short three months with us and was instrumental in pulling off our amazing High Society Ball earlier this month.
“I love the variety that my role offers. Every day is different. I get to meet so many people in the local community, and seeing what these people do for us at ACS is genuinely heart-warming.
Everyone is so friendly and kind. I have felt so welcomed in my short time with the charity. Being able to work with a charity that is so close to my heart and to help others is so fulfilling.
As someone who has gone through a cancer diagnosis, I know first-hand how important it is to be able to give back to the community. It truly is a dream job.”
